Heather Biggs
Care Package Program
About us
My name is Heather Biggs. I’ve lived in Nevada County for 30 years with my husband, two sons, and several "chosen" children. My husband and I served in ministry at Wolf Mountain Camp and Conference Center for nearly 15 years, and I’ve been involved in ministry in some form throughout our marriage.
After spending 25 years chronically ill—10 of those bedbound—God began to heal me in 2019. With that healing came a deep urgency to redeem the lost time and step back into service. That journey moved me to discover a way to offer the freedom and healing I had received.
I’m especially moved by the story of Jesus choosing to touch the leper before healing him. He met the man’s heart need before his physical need. It challenged me to ask: Who are the lepers of today—the marginalized, the invisible, the ones we avoid? How can we reach out to them the way Jesus did?
Through Practical Outreach, my goal is to equip others with simple, effective tools to build courage to reach out and connect with those most in need. I’m excited to follow where God leads—unsure of the destination, but ready for the ride!
Richard Clark
Hot Meal Program
My name is Richard Clark and I am a husband, father in a blended family of 6 kids and above all a follower of Jesus Christ. I know what it’s like to go without - without food, shelter, clothes, and a place to feel safe. I've been there for the majority of my life. I have received help from kind loving people during the hardest times and now the lord is calling me to give back in the same way.
God gave me a heart for cooking and a calling to feed his people. It's one of the main ways I show love and serve his people. The lord led me to feed others even though I have very little. There is a scripture where Jesus takes 5 loaves of bread, and 2 fish, blesses it and feeds 5000 with 12 baskets left over. With a little he blesses many and has more than enough.
I started serving small meals and am now serving dozens of people hot food. The number I feed continues to grow. This gesture creates love and hope for those in need. I am not just sharing a meal, I am sharing stories, hope, and God's love with every plate.
Times are hard, the streets are harder. Food shouldn't be a hurdle. No one should have to struggle to eat. If you feel led, I invite you to join me - whether by cooking, praying, donating, or simply showing up.
